How writers/artists can submit for consideration in the competition and demonstration.


Just a FEW Guidelines…


  • Theme: “POSITIVE” word or short statement.
  • Family Friendly
  • Final works must be able to be completed on a 48”x 60” board or canvas. (4’X5’)
  • Final works must be completed from start to finish at the Friday event between 6:00p.m. and  9:00 p.m. (If additional time is needed you may complete the work the following Saturday morning between the hours of 10:00 to 12 noon. Judging will take place during the following week)
  • Limit art works to no more than six colors. (We will provide the first 6 can/colors for you to use, addition colors or cans would be at your discretion and expense.)



Deadline for initial submissions is November 16th, 2018 at 11:59 p.m.

Submitting Entries for Jurors


Online Submission Form:

Unless otherwise indicated for special exhibits or contests. Digital files are the PREFERRED means of entry. Please use the Artist Submission Form below to apply and have your work or portfolio reviewed for the Street Art Graffiti Spray Off  Contest and  Exhibit. After you complete the submission form you will be directed to the Submission Payment Center. There you may pay securely online with your credit card with or without a PayPal account through PayPal. You may otherwise pay by check by making checks payable to Gallery of Hope and remit to the address in the paragraph below.


Electronic entries may be submitted via our submission form below. Entry forms, submissions on a CDR or paper and fees should be snail mailed to: Gallery of Hope C/O Island Images Prof. Photo, P.O. Box 690773, Vero Beach, FL 32969. To be fair, entries postmarked after the deadline date will not be accepted. Submissions may be delivered in person BEFORE 5:00 p.m. by deadline date, directly to the gallery by appointment to: Gallery of Hope.org, 2036 14th Avenue, Ste. 101, Vero Beach, FL 32960 (772) 643-6994.



Step 1: Initial Submissions

Submission and Payment:
There is a minimal application fee of only $10.00 per submission to help with the costs of materials. You may submit up to ten (10) submissions total.  Artists retain 100% ownership of their submitted works but by submitting an entry, you agree to allow Island Images Professional Photography Studio Inc. (IIPPSI) and/or its sponsoring partners unrestricted use of your artwork (in part or in whole) for promotional purposes in perpetuity both pre and post event.  All participating artists agree that in exchange for the prize money, the (5) FIVE final works from the event will be donated to IIPPSI and the gallery for sale or auction. All proceeds from the sale or auction will be retained by the studio/gallery so that we may continue to provide free photographic education, programs and opportunities to the underprivileged, students and seniors interested in the photographic and other alternative arts.

Preparing Images to Send:


File Naming and Sizing
Please follow these requirements when preparing your images for Calls for Artists and Contest submissions.

Your images are viewed as RGB images using a standard sRGB profile as flattened, 8 bit JPEG files. The largest dimension (width or height) should be 1600 pixels with the other dimension proportional to your image. This equates to a largest dimension of approximately 5.33 inches with a resolution 300 pixels per inch. Use JPG compression quality of 8 to 10 as this compression level will not affect the quality of images viewed on a monitor.

Image file names cannot include any of the following characters nor have more than 25 characters. Please do not include #,$,&, periods or other similar characters as part of the file name.

Preferred labeling would be as follows:  Last Name, underscore, First Name, underscore, TITLE.( i.e. Doe_John_SEASHORE.jpg)

Step 2: Finalists & Selection Notification:
From the submitting artists whose entries have been chosen as a (“Finalists”) we will select five (5) competing artists and one (1) alternate artist. Finalists will be notified by phone and/or email on or before November 19th, 2018 at 11:59 p.m. Finalists must be able to attend the competition on Friday, November 30th, 2018 at the MSVB Downtown Friday event from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m.

Step 3: Exhibit, Awards Presentation and Auction/Sale of the Artworks:

Finalists are requested to attend the exhibit opening on Friday, December 7th , 2018 from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. during the First Friday Gallery Stroll.


The submissions, sponsors and sales of the images from this event and exhibit will help us cover our expenses for this event and continue to provide FREE photographic education, programs and opportunities to the underprivileged students and seniors interested in the photographic and alternative arts.


Final art work will be up for silent auction at the Gallery of Hope during the month of December 2018.  The highest bid above the opening minimum bid will be awarded that piece of art. Any art piece not receiving the minimum bid will be retained by the Gallery of Hope for further auctions or sale.

Awards will be distributed to the artists as follows:

First Place                      $500.00           Blue Ribbon
Second Place                 $250.00           Red Ribbon
Third Place                    $100.00           Yellow Ribbon
Honorable Mention   $ 75.00             Green Ribbon
Honorable Mention   $  75.00            Green Ribbon



Usage Rights:
By submitting any material, (not limited to photos or video) for our exhibitions or contests to us you are verifying that you are the owner of the material, or that are submitting for and with the express consent of the owner of the material. You are also confirming that you are at least eighteen years of age or older. Whether your submitted material is chosen for that particular exhibition or contest or not, you grant the Gallery of Hope.org and Island Images Professional Photography Studio, Inc. the right to use their images for the purpose of marketing the exhibition, marketing the Gallery’s programs and subsequent display on the Gallery’s website of past exhibitions. Also by submitting via our online form or emailing material to us, you are granting us, and anyone authorized by us, a royalty-free, perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive, unrestricted, worldwide license to use, copy, exploit, modify, transmit, sell, create derivative works from, distribute, and/or publicly perform or display such material, in whole or in part, in any manner or medium, now known or hereafter developed, for any purpose.

The foregoing grant shall include the right to exploit any proprietary rights in such posting or submission, including, but not limited to, rights under copyright, trademark, service mark or patent laws under any relevant jurisdiction. Also, in connection with the exercise of such rights, you grant us, and anyone authorized by us, the right to identify you as the author of any of your postings or submissions by name, email address or screen name, as we deem appropriate.


Artist Agreement:
With submission of this application, artist certifies that they have read, accepted, and agreed to abide by all the rules and regulations stated in the Submission Guidelines and that all information that they have given is true and correct.

The Gallery of Hope.org is not a charity and is not currently seeking 501(c)(3) status.  The Gallery of Hope.org is a web site and gallery location of a private businessIsland Images Professional Photography Studio, Inc., who provides photographic education, programs and opportunities to the underprivileged, students and seniors interested in the photographic arts. We also encourage others to support local and global environmental and humanitarian charities.   The Gallery of Hope.org also allows its location to be used for multiple exhibitions each year specifically designed to raise additional awareness and funding for these charities.
